Pastor Gregory
L. Morris

Reverend Gregory L. Morris is a native of Mobile, Alabama. He is the youngest son of the late Mr. George Morris and Mrs. Adora Morris. He was educated in the Mobile County Public School System. Reverend Morris is a graduate of Bishop State Community College, where he received an A.A. Degree. He is also a proud graduate of Stillman College, where he earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Sociology and Psychology, and the University of West Alabama, where he graduated with a Master of Science Counseling Education and Psychology Degree.

He was both licensed and ordained at New Zion Missionary Baptist Church under the pastorate of the late Dr. E. J. James, Jr., where he served in various capacities prior to his appointment as Senior Pastor on September 16, 2012.

His civic activities includes service to the community as Past Board Chair of the West Side Community Development Center and as a member of the Advisory Board of the Focus on Senior Citizens’ Foster Grandparents’ Program. He served as Chaplain of Hospice Complete of Tuscaloosa. He also served as the former president of the Tuscaloosa Interdenominational Ministerial Alliance and the former President of the Canaan-Pickenville District Baptist Association Congress of Christian Education. Pastor Morris is also a member of the illustrious Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc, TAC.
